2018 Commonwealth Nations Bridge Championship – Australian Teams

Australia intends to enter up to four teams in the 5th Commonwealth Nations Bridge Championships at the Gold Coast, February 14-18 … two representative teams and two “transnational” teams.

One representative team, Australia Gold, has been finalised. All successful pairs at the Australian Open Playoffs were invited to join the team, starting from first place. The pairs who accepted are:

Phil Markey – Joachim Haffer
David Wiltshire – Max Henbest
Pauline Gumby – Warren Lazer

Places on the second representative team, Australia Green, were offered to youth pairs, in part to support preparation for the 2018 World Youth Championships. Two pairs have accepted. The third pair for Australia Green, and the members of the other two teams, will be decided after the Seniors and Women’s Playoffs in December. The two pairs who have already accepted positions in Australia Green are:

Jamie Thompson – Matt Smith
Tomer Libman – Andrew Spooner
