Australian Flitch Championship

The ABF has approved a new pairs event to be played annually during the GNOT National Final weekend. The new event called the Australian Flitch Championship and is open to all life partners. Eligible pairs are husbands and wives and all other couples in permanent relationships. (There is no requirement that contestants should have played in the 2015 GNOT.)

The first Australian Flitch Championship will be held at the Tweed Ultima Resort, Charles St, Tweed Heads on Sunday 29 November 2015. It will be run in conjunction with the GNOT Pairs Championships over seven 8-board rounds. Play will commence at 9.00am and finish at 4.45 pm. Gold masterpoints will awarded, a trophy will be presented to the winning pair, and there will be ABF medallions for first, second and third places.

The name “Flitch” is derived from an annual event for couples, the London Flitch, that was once very popular in England. Details of the Australian Flitch Championship can accessed on the ABF website (www.abf.com.au); search for GNOT 2015.
