7th World Junior Teams Championships in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Australia finishes 7th after a 15 match round robin. Final results: Italy 1st, USA II 2nd, Denmark 3rd and Israel 4th. Chinese Taipei was disqualified after running 4th in round robin (Aug.19, 1999).

14th National Bridge Congress, New Zealand. Bach/Del_Monte and Marston/Burgess joint winners of NZ Pairs. Mike Cornell, Dwayne Crombie, Tom Jacob, Brian Mace, Peter Newell and Martin Reid winners of the teams.

Changrui Cup 39th Pacific Asia Bridge Federation Championships, China, May 20-30, 1999
