Zone 7
The 2007 Laws of Duplicate Bridge provide for the Regulating Authority (c.f. the
ABF/NZ Bridge) to select certain Law options and to regulate their usage within
its geographical region. Regulating Authorities are further permitted to
provide regional interpretation and guidance as to the application of such
options and regulations.

WBF Laws and Regulations
The 2007 Laws of Duplicate Contract Bridge were adopted by the WBF in October
2007. The ABF will adopt these new laws on June 1, 2008. See the announcement
below.
ABF Announcement
"In accordance with the
resolutions of the ABF and NZCBA Laws Commission.
Please be advised that the new laws are to come into effect in Australia and New
Zealand on 1st June 2008. The only exception will be for an event that
commences a day or two earlier and continues on through 1st June without any
break of days. ie a congress pairs starting on the 31st May, finishing on 1st
June will play under the old laws.
The ABF has assigned the power under Law 80 to regulate events (other than ABF
events) to the State Association for 5 years."
