Saturday August 2

ANC Youth Pairs on Gold Coast for those born on or after 1/1/82.

August 3-8

ANC Youth Teams in Surfers Paradise for State Youth Teams born on or after 1/1/82. Ref http://www.qldbridge.com/anc/. Teams from SA, Qld, NSW, Vic, ACT and WA are expected to take part. If you would like to be in your State's team, please contact your State Youth Coordinator or email youth@abf.com.au.

August 9

Proposed Youth Coaching Day on Gold Coast - all welcome. A new initiative of a day of free coaching for any youth player who is present (e.g. those who stay on for a day after the Interstate Youth Teams). Coaching by the best Open players that we can find. Additional coaching on the previous day while the IYT Grand Final takes place is also planned.

September 1-7

PABF Youth Teams in Surfers Paradise Any team of players born on or after 1/1/ 80 is welcome. We expect there to be an Australian team, an Oz-One team, some teams from Pacific Asia countries such as Indonesia and any other youth team that wants to enter. For financial assistance, please contact youth@abf.com.au.

World University Teams in Lodz, Poland. Australia will send a team only if you, the players, arrange and fund your own team of four or more uni or ex-uni students, who do not all have to be from the same university.

For those born on or after 1/1/80. Recent students are acceptable. For possible financial assistance from the Friends of Youth Bridge fund, contact youth@af.com.au.

September 27 - October 4

NZ Nationals, in Hamilton, NZ. Private entries might receive financial assistance upon advance application. No official ABF teams being sent this year, due to the proliferation of international events at a similar time.

October 3-18

The World Championships in Beijing . There are three events - U26, U21 and U28, 1/1/82, 1/1/87 and 1/1/80 being the cut-off dates. Full board, free accommodation at the Media Village en.beijing2008.cn/media/mediaservices/accomodation/
and free entry all provided by the World Bridge Federation. For National teams only.

Teams events from October 4-12 followed by Pairs events and Individual events which are not open to anyone, but are only for those who played in the Teams events. ABF provides airfares. Australia's Under 26 team has been selected. Our U21 and U28 teams are yet to be selected.

41st Annual National Youth Bridge Week in Canberra : includes
National Youth Pairs on January 10-11
National Youth Teams on January 12-13
National U26 Team Selection events
plus other events on January 14-16.
New venue currently being arranged.

Otherwise, similar to 2008.
