I retired from a long teaching career and a friend took me in hand and taught me the basics of bridge.

Then it was on to John Roberts for formal lessons. Paul Marston and Ron Klinger became bedside reading. Soon I was asked to start a Leisure Learning Bridge Class with a friend.

I knew how to write curriculum and present lessons. My friend was an experienced club player.  This initial class of 11 players has grown to over a hundred.

At the beginning of each year, I present beginner lessons while my new partner supervises the continuing players. The beginners are then supported as they are integrated into the main group. Improvers lessons are given throughout the year as appropriate. I love meeting my new classes and see them slowly come to love this wonderful game.

During the pandemic my partner kept the group together with Bridge Base games. I became familiar with Zoom and was able to give Improvers Lessons.
