How did you get started in Bridge? At what age? Who do you learn from?

When I was 10 years old, my father introduced me to the Karori Bridge club near my home at Wellington.

What do (did) you do professionally?

I am a Year 10 student.

Who is your partner and for how long? Longest Partnership?

Remco Spencer is my partner. We have been a partnership for 2 months. My longest partnership is with Yiwei Qi. We have been playing with each other for 2 years.

If you had a choice who would you like to play with? Australia and Internationally – living or dead.

In your playing career, what is the bridge success that has the most meaning for you?

Coming 5th in the Dick Cumming Open Pairs playing with Yiwei Qi.

And your worst moment in bridge?

Going down in a cold 3NT with 10 top tricks.

What do you do between sessions to put you in the best frame of mind for the following sessions?

I step outside for fresh air.

Do you have a favourite and least favourite convention?

My favourite convention is Jacoby 2NT. My least favourite convention is Gerber.

Would you prefer to have more system or less?

Less system.

What do you to do to improve your game?

I do Bridge Master and read bridge books to improve my game.

What interests or hobbies do you have besides bridge?

Speedcubing and rollerblading.

What is the number one thing that bridge has done for you as a person and for your life?

Bridge has taught me to think clearly under pressure and make good decisions even when the information is incomplete. It has also given me confidence, friendships, and a community that continues to shape who I am.
