How did you get started in Bridge? At what age? Who did you learn from?
I learnt at an early age from parents. Both Lew and Shirley were talented players, both represented the ACT many times at the ANC
What do (did) you do professionally?
I am a retired Chartered Accountant.
Who is your partner and for how long? Longest Partnership?
I am partnering Terry Brown in the 2025 Australian Seniors Team. We have only played a few events together as Partners. I had the pleasure of playing with Richard Brightling for many years. We played together in the 2008 and 2009 Australian Open Teams.
If you had a choice who would you like to play with? Australia and Internationally – living or dead.
My mother.
In your playing career, what is the bridge success that has the most meaning for you?
Scoring more than 80% in duplicates with my mother.
And your worst moment in bridge?
My profound disappointment upon comprehending, when playing for Australia at the 2009 Bermuda Bowl that some of my opponents were prepared to cheat.
What do you do between sessions to put you in the best frame of mind for the following sessions?
Rejuvenate: Fresh air, Nutrition and some reflection with partner (if required).
What do you to do to improve your game?
Practice and maintain a healthy life style.
Favourite bridge book?
Anything by Klinger.
What interests or hobbies do you have besides bridge?
Family, Golf, Skiing, Cycling and travelling (and sometimes all at once)
What is the number one thing that bridge has done for you as a person and for your life?
Bridge has kept my mind active and created enduring friendships.
