ABF Announcement – Suspension of Lysandra Zheng
The Australian Bridge Federation (ABF) Board has resolved to impose a suspension on Ms Lysandra Zheng following a disciplinary decision by New Zealand Bridge.
On 28 September 2026, the New Zealand Bridge Conduct, Discipline and Disputes Committee found that Ms Zheng had breached Law 89 of the Laws of Bridge by improperly obtaining information about hands not yet played during an online competition. Ms Zheng admitted the offence, and the Committee imposed a 12-month suspension.
In accordance with the longstanding reciprocal agreement between the ABF and New Zealand Bridge concerning disciplinary sanctions, the ABF Board has resolved to apply an equivalent suspension in Australia.
Ms Zheng is therefore barred from participating in any bridge event, including tournaments, competitions and matches conducted under the auspices of the ABF or its affiliated state and territory organisations and clubs, whether as a player, director or in any other capacity.
As Ms Zheng has been participating in the 2026 Spring Nationals, the ABF Board has determined that her suspension in Australia will take immediate effect and remain in place until the conclusion of the 2027 Spring Nationals on 25 October 2027.
The ABF Board has zero tolerance for cheating in bridge. All players are entitled to compete in an environment where the rules are respected and fair play is upheld.
