The Tournament Committee (TC) has considered these changes and made to recommendations to the ABF Board (formerly MC) which were accepted.

Australian Team for Postponed World Teams Championship (Feb 2022)

The Board accepted the proposal from the TC that the current Australian teams’ tenure be extended to the end of March 2022.

The TC and the Board noted there is still considerable uncertainty regarding the World Bridge Teams both, as to if they will be held, and if the ABF will be able to send representative teams. Any Board approval of travel and participation together with any offer to the teams will be considered closer to the proposed dates for events.

Playoffs:

The Board accepted the TC recommendation to hold playoffs for the 2022 Australian Teams as follows:

  • Open Playoff: A pairs event to be held in Canberra from 5th to 10th February 2022(1). Entry to the event to be to 12 pairs based on Open PQPs. The event will be concurrent with the Women’s Playoff.
